Updated July 19, 2010
Effective
August 1, 2010, the Transportation Security Administration has
mandated that 100% of all cargo be subject to screening that moves on board a passenger
carrying aircraft, and since October 1, 2008, 100% of cargo boarded on a narrow-body passenger
aircraft has been screened. This screening is conducted by the airline prior to
movement of the cargo. The TSA now requires your written consent to screening of
cargo for movement via air transportation, which can be authorized on a "per shipment"
basis or as one blanket authorization. Please contact your local Pilot station for
more information and ask about the Cargo Security Consent To Screen Authorization
form we can provide you for this purpose.
