Pilot braves the storm for a medical
equipment emergency.

The frantic call came Friday at 5:30 pm during one of the region's worst ice storms.
A major manufacturer of medical equipment was short on specialized computer cables
for its monitoring and imaging systems. They were needed ASAP! Pilot's
Joanna Pankonin and Becky Jager of Milwaukee, WI, raced into action.
Within the hour, they put a truck and driver on the road and coordinated with the
customer's warehouse 176 miles away. Even as the storm worsened, the late-night
pickup was made and expedited back to Milwaukee by the next morning. Pilot's challenging
but on-time delivery helped the customer reach a record-breaking fourth quarter.
And solidified Pilot's position as its #1 shipper.
Joanna and Becky's story is just one example of the extra mile Pilot
people go to become a shipper's best friend.
